Mart Razor

January 29, 1937 — August 27, 2024

Bethel

Mart Razor, 87, of Bethel, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at his home.  He was born on January 29, 1937, in Bethel to the late John Presley Razor and Mary Elizabeth Boling Razor.

Mart was the owner and operator of Razor's Service Station in Bethel, where he became a familiar and friendly face to the many who frequented the establishment. Beyond his business, he was also a lifetime farmer, a role that exemplified his commitment to the land and traditions of his upbringing. Mart's dedication to his work reflected his character—hardworking, reliable, and deeply rooted in his community. This was greatly shown by his dedication to the Bethel Methodist Church, where he was a lifelong member and worked tirelessly for the Lord.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Mart cherished spending time with his family. He loved playing golf and was passionate about basketball, both playing and watching whenever he had the chance. His greatest joy, however, came from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he created countless memories that will be treasured for years to come.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Tyson Lewis, and all seven of his siblings, Omar Razor, Molly Crouch, Boone Razor, Christine Wells, Jannie J. Manley, Elaine Vice, and John "Jake" Razor.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Erma Porter Razor, two sons, Rick Razor (Bev) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Wayde Razor (Dana) of Hartsville, South Carolina; and two daughters, Pam Guy (Stevie) of Bethel, and Becky Davis (Lance) of Owingsville, eight grandchildren: Shane Lewis (Paula) of Florence, South Carolina; Brandon Guy (Brittany) of Smyrna, Georgia; Kyle Hager (Molly) of Lexington, Kentucky; Chelsea Hunt (Hayden) of Hartsville, South Carolina; Lauren Ware (Jacob) of Jacksonville, Florida; Reese Razor of Florence, South Carolina; and Jordan Davis (Carrie) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, ten great-grandchildren: Shelby Lewis, Cooper Guy, Brylee Hunt, Wyatt Hunt, Ava Ware, Maddie Hunt, Lincoln Ware, Eliza Hunt, Silas Hunt, and one on the way, Berkeley Guy, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Shirley and Elaine Grimes, and a heartfelt thank you is extended to Kennetha Hatton for her wonderful care.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Bethel Methodist Church with Rick Razor and Shirley Grimes officiating.

Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
