Arnold Clay (“Buck”) Thomas, 76, of Bethel, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019 at St. Joseph Healthcare in Lexington.
He was born on August 15, 1943 in Bath County, Kentucky, a son of the late Arnold and Sullie Mae Jones Thomas.
Buck was a farmer and was of the Christian Faith.
He loved working and caring for horses and was nominated as Horse Groomer of the Year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Wheeler Thomas, one son, Anthony Clay Thomas and his wife, Michelle of Owingsville, one daughter, Lesley Nichole Elam of Owingsville, one sister, Ethel Boling of Mt. Sterling, four grandchildren, Dawson Scott Elam, Kennedy Klay Thomas, Maggie Elizabeth Elam and Kassidy Lynn Thomas, special life-time friend, Shirley Grimes of Bethel and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 12, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Roy Stacy and Rev. Rich Anderson officiating and special remarks and remembrances by Shirley Grimes.
Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Young, Richard Evans, Scottie Elam, Cliff Buckler, Ray Robertson, Barry Fryman, David Paul Wheeler and Rick Richmond.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shirley Grimes, Norman Thomas, Roger Thomas, Larry Jones, Bobby Hudson, Billy Hunt, Funny Hawkins and David Wheeler.
