Mrs. Betty Wells Conyers, 89, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away peacefully Saturday morning August 31, 2019 at the Ridgeway Nursing & Rehabilitation in Owingsville.

She was born on May 19, 1930 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late John & Amy Purvis Wells.

Betty was a member of the Slate Valley Christian Church. She retired from Jockey International in Mt. Sterling as an inspector. Some of her hobbies included reading, raising a garden, canning vegetables, watching a good movie and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed the holiday seasons, watching the hummingbirds at home and spending time with her beloved family.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Marvin Conyers who passed away on May 5, 2019, six brothers, William Franklin Wells, Billy Patterson Wells, Elza Wayne Wells, Gene Austin Wells, Scott Wells and John T. Wells Jr., two sisters, Christine Wells Hart Watkins and Elizabeth Frances Wells.

Survivors include one daughter Marilyn Meeks (Allen) of Mt. Sterling, one son, Johnny Conyers of Owingsville, four brothers, Paul Lewis Wells, Clifford Brooks Wells (Ann), Bobby Wells (Jenny) and Gordon Wells (Joyce) all of Owingsville, four sisters, Lottie Wells Bristow (William) of Dayton, Ohio, Ruth Wells Orme (Charles), Lorena Faye Wells Willoughby (Chester) both of Mt. Sterling and Blanche Wells of Owingsville, one step-grandson, Jason Meeks (Tracy) of Louisville and one step great grandson, Gabriel Meeks. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 5, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice Officiating. A special song will be sung by her nephew, Chris Hart.

Burial will follow at the Owingsville Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 6 - 8 P.M. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will include Adam Crockett, Bryan Goodpaster, Paul Reese Sexton, Rob Kiskaden, Charlie Orme and Mike Orme.

Honorary Pallbearers will include Bernice Abney, Tammy Calvert, Paul Conyers, Larry Mikel, Tommy Kiskaden and Charles Orme.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Mrs. Betty Wells Conyers.
