Betty Farmer

Betty Mae Johnston Farmer, 86, of Old Sand Road, Salt Lick, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born on August 4, 1929 in Czar, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Ollie and Rosie Loudin Johnston.

Mrs. Farmer was retired from General Electric.

She attended Hedricks Community Church and she enjoyed crocheting and caring for children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry T. Farmer, Sr., who passed away on August 3, 1998, two brothers, Glen Johnston and Roy Johnston and one great-grandson, Austen Williams.

Survivors include one daughter, Doris (John) Tucker of Salt Lick, one son, Maxwell (Mitzie) Buchanan of Virginia, step-daughter, Betty (Steve) Lofler of Virginia, two brothers, Jack (Lana) Johnston and William (Betty) Johnston of Baltimore, Maryland, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 5, 2015 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Kenneth Potter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hedricks Cemetery.

Visitation is after 12:00 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Tucker, Kendall Williams, John Tucker, Jr., Ray Humphrey, Eric Tucker, Zac Humphrey, Mike Kuchinsky and Lee Buchanan.
