Betty Kathleen Jones

Betty Kathleen Jones, 90, formerly of Bethel, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Life Care Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was born on June 19, 1934, in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, to the late Willie Robinson and Ella Mae Petitt Robinson.

Betty was a woman of many interests; she found great joy in singing in church at the Bethel Methodist Church, solving crossword puzzles, going shopping, and watching westerns. A lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed camping and attending bluegrass festivals, experiences that enriched her life and allowed her to connect with her passions and heritage.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Ann Jones Snapp, three brothers and three sisters. 

Survivors include her husband of seventy-three years, James "JR" Robert Jones, two granddaughters, Lila Beth Willoughby (Jimmy) of Carlisle, Kentucky and Garla Hart (Jason) of Bethel, three great grandchildren, Savannah Bates, Timothy "Andrew" Roberts and Holly Bates Snowden, three great great grandchildren, Jamie Roberts, Oval Snowden II and Laynee Hammond.  Survivors also include her two nieces, Linda Looney and Sharon Peyton. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Bro. Ike France officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel. 

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friday. 

Pallbearers include Jason Hart, Andrew Roberts, Jimmy Willoughby, Brandon Green, Jason Vice and Patrick Zalone. 

Honorary pallbearers include Danny Vice, Kevin Johnson, Mark Hobbs, Steve Hobbs, Herschel Thornsburg, Zachary France, Gary Rose, Brent Hobbs and Michael Lavalley. 

In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Life Care Center Activity Department at 933 N. Tolliver Rd. Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
