Mrs. Betty Jean Johnson Vice, Age 83 of Sharpsburg, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington after a brief illness.
She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on April 3, 1934 to the late Albert and Eva Shepherd Johnson.
Mrs. Vice was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Methodist Church. She always put others first and enjoyed helping them in any way she could. She also enjoyed working with her family on the farm and raising a garden.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Vice in 2004 and a sister Alberta Brewer.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana Joy Vice of Sharpsburg. Five brothers, Robert Johnson of Owingsville, Kentucky, Lloyd Johnson, Everett Johnson and Frank Johnson all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and Delmar Johnson of Liberty, Indiana.
Also, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Roy Stacy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 6:00 P.M. Monday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Johnson, Larry Brewer, Donald Brewer, Bob Brewer, Greg Hatton and Tim Boykin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Lee, Lee Sexton, David Burgess, Jim Hatton and Walter Hawkins.
