Billy G. Shields, 65, of Bethel, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident.
He was born in Mt. Sterling on March 22, 1957, to the late Carl Estill Shields and Dorothy Dailey Shields.
Billy worked as a Pipe Forman for Tutt Inc. for many years. He was a simple man who loved to hunt, work in the garden and long scenic drives. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Max.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Katie Lou Tincher, Juelda Rae Shields, Nancy Thomas and one brother Freddie Irvin Shields.
Survivors include his beloved wife Carleen Faye Shields, two sons, Jeremy Shields (Zackery Booker) of Bethel, Ohio and Tyler Shields (Rachel) of Sharpsburg, Kentucky, two brothers, Andrew "Bubby" Shields (Sue) and Wayne Allen Shields (Patty) both of Bethel, one sister, Peggy Shields of Olympia, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Bro. Roy Stacy officiating.
Burial will follow at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be 6:00 - 9:00 PM Tuesday.
Pallbearers will include; Jason and Robert Wolfenbarger, Gary Copher, Walt Neal, Brian Thomas and Phillip Shields.
Honorary Pallbearers include, William Dailey, Missy Sexton and Pat Cohorn.
