Charles Copher

Charles E. Copher, 81 of White Oak Road, Owingsville, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the St. Joseph-Mt. Sterling Hospital. He was born in Bath County, Kentucky on  March 2, 1939 to the late Palmer and Lillian Rose Copher.

Mr. Copher was a lifelong farmer who was well known in this area. He raised corn, hay, cattle and his pride was his tobacco crops.

He was a great family man who was especially close to his son, grandson and great-grandchildren. It was very difficult for he and his family to be separated because of the COVID virus.  He served on the Southern States board of Directors and solicited for Home tobacco Warehouse and R. J. Reynolds in Morehead.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Jean Copher, two brothers; Lacy E. Copher and Harold Ray Copher.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary B. Copher, One son Yogi Copher (Martha)  of Owingsville. One sister, Nancy (Jerry) Ensor of Fort Worth, Texas,

Two sisters-in-law; Twila Copher and Etna Copher.

One grandson, Charles Douglas (Amanda) Copher and four great-grandchildren, Skylar, Braxton, Hailee and Blakely.

Also, several nieces nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Sunday, December 27, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Ron Weaver officiating.

Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 11:00 am Sunday.

Pall bearers will be; John Rogers, Bobby Rogers, Omar Rogers, Earl Rogers, Gary Copher, Mike Savey Chris Copher and Joe York. Honorary pall bearers will be; Stewart Snedegar, Billy Earl Toy, Jr., Ricky Hart, Jr. Plank, Randy Jackson and Jimmy Craig.

In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to one's favorite charity.
