Christine Manley Whitton, 90, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling.
She was born on January 1, 1931 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Clay Lewis Manley and Nannie Staton Manley.
Christine was a creative, accomplished, thoughtful and loving woman. She devoted many hours to her wonderful cooking, sewing and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Slate Valley Christian Church and she also attended the Preston First Church of God. For 68 years she was the loving wife to her late husband, James Whitton and she also cherished being a mother and nana.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Jean Manley and one half sister Alice Craycraft.
Survivors include her daughter Teresa Long and her husband Jerry of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, her grandson Jerrod Jameson Long of Louisville, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Terry Frerichs and Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Slate Valley Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be after 12:00 P.M. Saturday.
Pallbearers include Gary Staton, Woody Staton, Johnny Whitton, Omar Heath, Tony Whitton and Jed Staton.
