Mr. Clayton Thomas "Tom" Lane, 67, of Sharpsburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday morning January 10, 2019 at the St. Joseph - Mt. Sterling Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was born in Mt. Sterling on September 18, 1951 to Doris Roberts Lane of Sharpsburg and the late J.W. Lane.
Tom was a graduate of Nicholas County High School and was active in the Boy Scouts of America having attained the highest honor in scouting, the rank of " Eagle Scout". He was a graduate of Morehead State University where he earned a Bachelors degree in Agriculture. He was a member of the Living Water Church and enjoyed Farming. He retired after working as a market news reporter for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
He was preceded in death by his father J. W. Lane.
Survivors include his wife Dana Satterly Lane, one son, Eric P. Lane and wife Audrey of Sharpsburg, one daughter, Kayla Brooke Lane of Lexington, his mother Doris Roberts Lane of Sharpsburg and one grandchild Eli Patrick Lane. Also a brother, James Robert Lane and sister Mary Beth Lane both of Sharpsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Grant Cannoy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Saturday.
In Lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Sharpsburg Christian Church and the Living Water Church in Mt. Sterling.
