Mrs. Della Emmons McClain, 78, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at the Saint Joseph Hospital-Main in Lexington, Kentucky after a brief illness.
She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on August 17, 1941 to the late Arnold and Helen Williams Emmons.
Della was a people person who enjoyed helping others and spending time with her family. She worked as a cook at the Gateway Head Start in Owingsville for fourteen years and worked several years at the Owingsville First Church of God Daycare. She also enjoyed watching television, cooking for others and reading magazines.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth McClain and her son-in-law, Doug Conyers.
Survivors include one son, Roy Douglas McClain, five daughters, Debbie Warner (Chuck McGuff) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Tara Cassidy (Terry) of Mt. Sterling, Cheryl Penick (Bobby), Karen Conyers and Kathy Cassidy (Rex) all of Owingsville, one brother James "Jimmy" Emmons (Barbara) and one sister, Mary Staton (John) both of Owingsville, five grandchildren, Shaunda Hagerman, Brian Warner, Emily Hunt, Hannah Cassidy and Haley Cassidy, eight great-grandchildren and special friend Kathy Jackson (Gary).
Private family services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.
Pallbearers include Jacob Conyers, Chris Hunt, Jimmy Hagerman, Terry Cassidy, Brian Warner, Jeff Warner and Bob Penick.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Mrs. Della Emmons McClain.
