Donald Hunt

Donald Richie Hunt, 69, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was a Bath County native born April 24, 1949. Richie was a licensed funeral director and owned and operated Richie Hunt Funeral Home for nearly 50 years. He was passionate about his work, a remarkably dedicated funeral director. During his career, he served as County Coroner, provided county ambulance services, member of the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association, Lions Club, Kiwanis, Bath Lodge #55, Chamber of Commerce and a host of other organizations. Richie served as President of almost all of his civic groups. In his later years, he was employed by Mann Chrysler. He loved being with people and developed many close friendships through his work. Richie was a member of Owingsville First Church of God.

Richie is survived by his wife, Anna Ruth Hunt of Owingsville; three daughters, Sherri Kissick (Charlie) of Owingsville, Anna Richelle Bach (Steven) of Mt. Sterling and Beth Williams (Kenny) of Owingsville; nine grandchildren: Clark, Taborn and Hunter Kissick of Owingsville, Huntley and Elly Bach of Mt. Sterling, Ashlee Rogers, Alyssa, Kane and Kole Williams, all of Owingsville, a special addition to the family, Josh Marx of Owingsville; one sister, Joyce Blevins (Jewett); two brothers, Harold Wayne Hunt (Patty) and Gary Hunt (Christina), all of Owingsville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Taulbee and Clemmie Ulery Hunt; one sister, Wanda Crouch.

Richie was one of a kind, big-hearted and loved being with his family and friends. His children and grandchildren were his world.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville. Rev. Lowell Rice and Rev. James Humphries officiating. Entombment will follow in the Lexington Cemetery Mausoleum in Lexington, Kentucky.

Visitation will be after 4pm, Monday, August 13, 2018 at Michael R. Gray Funeral Home.
