Mr. Donald C. Purvis, 76 of Owingsville, passed away Tuesday evening in the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
He was born in Bath County, Kentucky on February 28, 1942 to the late Robert and Mary Davis Purvis. Donnie worked in maintenance at the Holiday Inn in Lexington for over 40 years.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robin Purvis and a sister, Lillian (Susie) Sexton.
Survivors include three brothers, Charles Purvis and his wife Opal of Owingsville, Robert Purvis of Owingsville and Eddie Purvis and his wife Laura of Carlisle, Kentucky. Five sisters, Frances McKinley of Mt. Sterling, Mary Bostic, Maxine Bussell and Jackie Bussell all of Owingsville and Nola Campbell and her husband Elmo of Lexington. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Bro. Rich McKinley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hedricks Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday.
Pall bearers will be Bobby Wayne Bussell, Jr., Justin Hutson, Elmo Campbell, Jeff Brown, Brandon Bussell and Isaac Purvis.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all arrangements for Mr. Donald C. Purvis.
