Dorothy Faye Butcher, 85, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Sunday morning, June 27, 2021 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky surrounded by her family.
She was born August 1, 1935 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Lacy Goodpaster and Lide Goodpaster.
Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking and shopping. She was a faithful member of the Owingsville First Church of God for many years and she valued singing in the church choir and cooking with W.C.G group. She also loved traveling and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Butcher, one brother, Orville "Bud" Goodpaster and one great-granddaughter, Alivea Abney.
Survivors include two children, Debbie Young (Asher Combs) of Lexington and Steve Butcher of Owingsville, one granddaughter, Ronelle Young, two great-grandchildren; Kaden Gray and Dasia Gray, two great-great-grandchildren; Elizabeth Renee Combs and Mileenna Leeanna-Faye Abney all of Lexington and her beloved grand-dog, Lyka who stayed by her side up until the end.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Owingsville First Church of God with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Owingsville First Church of God will be 6 - 8:00 PM Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Chris Butcher, Doug Padgett, Andy Cravens, Asher Combs and Tommy Hyat.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home, 89 Slate Avenue, Owingsville, Kentucky 40360 is caring for all the arrangements for Dorothy Faye Butcher.
