Edward Lee "Ed" McDaniel, 55, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 7th, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital, Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky after a courageous battle with COVID-19.
He was born on March 25, 1966 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Edward McDaniel Sr. and Bonnie J. Baker.
Ed was passionate about his community. After graduating from Bailey's Barber College, he went on to work as a barber for over 30 years. He was employed at Doug Gay's Barber shop where he was a listening ear, friendly voice and friend to all. He provided not only great haircuts, but a laughter-filled time in the barbershop. When he wasn't giving a child their first haircut, he was renting court day spots at bargain prices, while feeding the crowd Texas Tenderloin. He also enjoyed working alongside his friends at “BG Eats” at Bluegrass Stockyards. He was also a respected member of the Owingsville City Council. In his free time, he enjoyed working in his wood shop, assembling RC pulling trucks and using his remarkable talents to create things for his family. While he contributed a lot to his community, his greatest contribution to this world was his beautiful daughter, Kallie.
