Elbert Carpenter

Elbert Lee Carpenter, 77, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky.

He was born in Bath County on October 3, 1944 to the late Elbert Woodford Carpenter and Clara Sears Gilvin.

Elbert was a United States Army Veteran who retired from Jockey International after 34 years.  He attended the Victory Chapel Church in Sharpsburg, Kentucky and enjoyed fishing, playing cards and horseshoes, spending many hours on the CB radio and tinkering with cars.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth James Carpenter, one daughter, Peggy Johnson, one son, Gerald Thomas Carpenter, three grandchildren; Melissa Arnett, Rodney Gage Carpenter, Elisha Ensor and one great great grandchild, Rebecca Lewis.

Survivors include his three sons; Elbert Carpenter Jr (Wendy Rudd), Rodney Carpenter (Sondra Fredrick) both of Owingsville and Billy Wayne Rairden (Tammy) of Frenchburg, Kentucky, two daughters; Paula Miles (Chip) and Martha Franklin both of Mt. Sterling, one sister, Thelma Frazier (Wendall) of Mt. Sterling, eight grandchildren; Randy Johnson (Melissa), Shawna Maloney, William Rairden (Melissa), Heather Eldridge (Michael), Stacey Ensor (Johnathon McMahan), Josh Miles, Karissa Carpenter (Austin Neff), JT Carpenter, Courtney Carpenter, David Fredrick, Sara Fredrick and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Kevin Miles officiating.

Burial will follow in the Carpenter Cemetery on Stepstone Road.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 12 noon - 2:00 PM Tuesday.

Pallbearers include; Austin Neff, Randy Johnson, Gabriel Toledo, Michael Eldridge, Johnathon McMahan, Mike James, George James and Chuck James.

Honorary pallbearers include; Nisha Toledo, Shawna Maloney, Heather Eldridge, Stacy Ensor and Karissa Carpenter
