Frank C. Hart Jr. 98, a dedicated family man and respected member of the community, passed away at his home on August 5, 2024. He was born on April 19, 1926, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Frank C. Hart Sr. and Margaret Frances May Hart. Frank served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country.
Following his military service, Frank embarked on a fulfilling career and retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot. His dedication and work ethic were commendable, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Throughout life, he found joy in farming. He raised tobacco for 50 years. He was also a proud life member of The Committee of 101 at the University of Kentucky since 1974. Frank also very much enjoyed fishing in local ponds, lakes and streams.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother Charles Henry Hart and sister Mary Juanita Snowden.
Survivors include his loving wife of 76 years, Beulah Mae Moore Hart, their son Frank C. Hart III (Flo), daughter Angie Hart, four grandchildren - Michael S. Hart (Dominique), Sarah L. Weiner (Eric), Thomas M. Hart (Maddie Cheek) and Anthony Cerelli (Megan Ewalt) - as well as six great-grandchildren: Ina Hart, Josephine Hart, Esther Weiner, Elliot Weiner, Natalie Weiner, and Gabe Cerelli. Frank also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Visitation at the Sharpsburg Christian Church is from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2024.
Frank's celebration of life service will be conducted 10:00 AM Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Sharpsburg Christian Church with Pastor Johnny Baber officiating.
Burial will follow at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg with full military honors being performed by American Legion Post 22.
A reception for the family and friends will be held at the Sharpsburg Community Center, 7781 West Tunnel Hill Road, Sharpsburg, Kentucky 40374 after the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Christian Social Services at 44 Coyle Street, Owingsville, Kentucky 40360 (Attention: Marcelle Doggett); the Sharpsburg Christian Church or any charity of your choice.
