Gary Staton

Gary Benton Staton, 66, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

He was born in Mt. Sterling on March 24, 1956, to the late Arthur Benton Staton and Lorena Mae Whitton Staton.

After serving in the United States Army.  Gary went on to work many years as a project manager for Bell Engineering Company along with being a self-employed electrician.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting knives and farming.  Gary also loved spending time with his friends and family.  Some of his fondest memories were coaching little league baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Leani Reece Staton.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Drucella Otis Staton, one son, Jedediah B. Staton (Ashley Sams), one daughter, Jessica Staton (Jason Morris) and niece/daughter, Daphan Allen all of Owingsville, one brother, Woodson Lee Staton of Shelbyville, Kentucky, seven grandchildren, Shawn Allen, Aaron Allen, Camryn Allen, Bryar Staton, Jayger Staton, Bentley Staton and Kinsley Morris, two great grandchildren, Everlee Carpenter and Natalie Allen.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, August 14, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.

Full military honors will be performed by American Legion Post 22 at the Polksville Cemetery in Polksville, Kentucky.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Saturday.

Pallbearers include, Rob Gross, Tom Osborne, Lee Benton, Jedediah Staton, Michael Jamison, Jason Morris, Glen Gamble and Wayne Meadows.
