Harold Dale Holland, 90, of Lexington, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling. He was born on February 27, 1935, in Bath County, to the late Nesbitt Holland and Effie Mullins Holland.
Harold was the owner and operator of Holland's Contract Carpets, where his commitment to quality and customer service endeared him to many in the community. His professional accomplishments were a source of pride, illustrating his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
Harold's life was marked by his passions, which included golfing, playing horseshoes, bowling, and a deep enthusiasm for sports, notably UK basketball. He also cherished the opportunities to travel, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Harold is predeceased by his two wives, Lillian Highley Holland and Maudie Young Holland, his granddaughter, Brittany Holland, as well as his four brothers, Nesbitt Jr., Glenn, Roger, and Charles Holland, and his two sisters, Delores Faye Holland and Donna Holland and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Corum
Family was at the heart of Harold's life. He is survived by five sons: Timothy Holland (Beth), Larry Holland (John), Ted Malin II (Melinda) – all of Lexington, Mark Holland (Lynn) of Mt. Sterling, and Alan Corum of Richmond. His deep love for his daughters continued with the presence of Miriam Crouch (Robert) of Owingsville, Laura Wathen (Jimmy) of Shelbyville, Susan Tubbs (Mark) of Paris, Kentucky, Pam Clark (Randy), and Kathy Blattner (Josh) of Smyrna, Tennessee. Harold was also the proud brother of two sisters, Barbara McLean of North Carolina and Roma Coyle (Mike) of Centerville, Ohio, alongside his sister-in-law, Alice Holland. His legacy is further enriched by nineteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Navy Chaplain, Lt. Joshua R. Holland officiating.
Burial will follow at the Holland Cemetery in Olympia.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2025.
