Hazel Ingram Copher, 91, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at her home in Blevins Valley after a long illness.
She was born in Owingsville on October 10, 1930. The daughter of the late Elza Ingram and Stella Blevins Ingram.
Hazel was a adventurous spirit who knew the importance of giving back. She believed that with hard work and faith she could always find a way to provide for her family and many others. Fried chicken was always something her family loved to see on the table as that was her signature dish. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball with her two daughters, son and her husband Robert "Bob" Copher was the coach as well as her teammate. Together they would travel all over to play other softball teams and almost always they would come back celebrating the victory. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and selling used clothing as a way contributing to her community and taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert "Bob" H. Copher, one grandson, Robert "Rob" Copher, two sisters, Edna Bell Purvis and Ann Jones, seven brothers, Calvin, Virgil, Edward, Burley, Russell and Vernon Ingram and Clay Crockett.
Survivors include her two daughters, her beloved caretaker, Janice Reed and Cathy Downey (Charles) and one son, Harold Copher (Debbie) all of Owingsville, seven grandchildren, Kim Crouch (Andy), Valerie Ward (Mark), Jamie Vincent (Matt) and Bryant Reed (her beloved caretaker) all of Owingsville, Sandy Paige (Adam) of Mt. Sterling, Laura Mays (Tommy) and Christy Stafford (Shaun) of Versailles, Kentucky and nine great grandchildren, one sister, Mabel Pelfrey and two sister-in-laws, Mae McQuithy and Lucille Ingram.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Bishop John Nelson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday.
Pallbearers will be; Bryant Reed, Tommy Mays, Adam Paige, Shaun Stafford, Matt Vincent and Mark Ward.
Honorary pallbearers will be; David Ingram, Russell Ingram, Steve Ingram, Wendell Ingram, Garry Jackson, Kenny Purvis, Larry Robinson, Gary Robinson and Billy Robinson.
