Hazel Parks

Hazel Parks, 89, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Owingsville.

She was born on January 28, 1927 in Bath County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Goebel and Cordia Crockett Parks.

Ms. Parks retired from Owingsville Elementary School.

Her hobby, in the winter months, was quilting with her mother, Cordia and she also enjoyed flowers.  She was a member of the Church of God, Hope, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Reffitt and Katherine Parks and two brothers, Goebel Parks, Jr. and Earl Parks.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (Douglas) Ogden of Boca Raton, Florida, one granddaughter, Candice (Peter) Angelus of Herndon, Virginia, three sisters, Irene (Ken) Wills of Preston, Betty (Bob) Dyer of Morehead and Eunice Johnson of Lexington and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 26, 2017 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.

Burial will follow in the Little Slate Cemetery at Stulltown, Hope, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Ogden, Matthew Strain and nephews, Jeffrey Green, Todd Green and Roger Reffitt, Jr.

Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
