James Vernon Emmons, 76, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from injuries sustained in a farming accident in Bourbon County, Kentucky.
He was born on August 21, 1945 in Bath County, Kentucky, to the late Arnold Emmons and Helen Williams Emmons.
He was retired from the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Lexington, Kentucky. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Della McClain.
Survivors include his wife of fifty seven years, Barbara Purvis Emmons, two sons; Barry Emmons of Lowell, Florida, and Jeff Emmons (Kim Bussell) of Owingsville. One daughter Vicki (Murtadha) Allawati of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. One sister Mary Ruth Staton (John) of Owingsville. Four grandchildren; Kayla, Alex, Maria and Mason, and five great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel, Kentucky with Pastor Tim Ray officiating.
There is no visitation.
Casket Bearers will be WIllie Staton, John Barry Staton, Doug McClain, Bobby Penick, Larry Brewer, and Donald Brewer.
