Josephine Thacker

Josephine Ward Thacker, 88, of Olympia, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on July 9, 1934, to the late Hollie Ward and Dora May Ward.

Josephine was a member of the Upper Salt Lick Church of Christ.  She was a homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade Thacker, her infant son, Wade Thacker Jr. and one brother, Buford Ward.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Thacker of Olympia, one daughter, Gail Pearson of Olympia, two brothers, Winifred Ward of Olympia and Hollie Ward Jr. of Illinois, three grandchildren, Jeremy Wayne Thacker, Jarrod Wade Pearson and Alisha Schubitzke and four great-grandchildren, Addison Elizabeth Thacker, Amberley Jae Thacker, Charles Wade Pearson and Emma Jo Schubitzke.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, September 5, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Brother Redza McNabb officiating.

Burial will follow in the Thacker Cemetery at Olympia.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday.

Pallbearers include Wayne Thacker, Jarrod Pearson, Lyle Pearson and Jeremy Thacker.

Contributions are suggested to the Upper Salt Lick Church of Christ.
