Karen Conn

Karen Y. Conn, 69, of Valparaiso, Indiana and Salt Lick, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at her home in Valparaiso.

She was born on June 2, 1950 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, a daughter of Madeline Carter Darrell and the late Joseph Darrell.

Karen was a retired nursing instructor, having worked at the Rowan County Technical College and KCTCS in Lexington.

She was a member of the Morehead First Church of God and HOSA.

Karen enjoyed painting, crafts and spending time with her son and grandson, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Darrell and special aunts and uncles.

Survivors include her husband, Danny True, her son, Adam Conn (Nancy Han) of Valparaiso, her grandson, Samuel David Conn, her mother, Madeline Carter Darrell of Owingsville, one brother, Donald J. Darrell (Emogine) of Jamestown, Ohio and special friends, Judy Jewell and Claudia Collins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 14, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.

Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery at Midland.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Darrell, Blake Jewell, B. J. Jewell, Rodney Jewell, Steve Bragg and Todd Neace.
