Kenneth Lee Brumley, 55 of Kendall Springs Road Owingsville, Kentucky passed away peacefully Saturday evening, May 15, 2021 at his home after a courageous but short battle with cancer. He was born on May 22, 1965.
Often referred to as Jungle Boy, he was known for doing odd jobs and lawn care for anyone, anywhere. His brief battle began in February when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. His love for his grandchildren was profound as he often spoke of them with anyone who would listen. He was a simple man with a heart of gold!
He could be described as a rambler, junk collector, did his best to hustle as often as possible. His simple pleasures were smoking, heavy metal music and mountain dew!
He was proceeded in death by his two sisters; Shirley Ann Ritchie and Opal Frances Ritchie.
Survivors include his girlfriend of many years Brenda Bretz Wilson of Owingsville, four daughters; Kasey Bretz Denton of Owingsville, Kentucky, Shaulinda Dawn Brumley, Cassie Marie Nesbit, and Elizabeth Hope Brumley all of Carlisle, Kentucky, two stepsons; Jason Bretz and Justin Bretz of Owingsville, eight grandchildren Brooklyn Denton, Baylor McCarty, Alexis, Abigail Bretz and Allison Bretz, Carrie Ison and Jonathan and Elijah Tobin. Numerous special friends including but not limited to Barry Toy and Roy Cable Wright.
A memorial service will be held on his birthday Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Saturday.
