Margaret (“Maggie”) Lorine Buckler Sparks, 74, native of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 28, 1947 in Bath County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Sherman Elgin Buckler and Virtna Mae Buckler.
She was a retired Kitchen Director for the Owingsville First Church of God and a devoted member of Tunnel Hill First Church of God.
Maggie was the type of person that once you met her, you would be instantly drawn to her fun-loving personality, friendly smile, and her kind heart. There is no doubt that she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but they will forever cherish their memories and find peace in knowing that she is in Heaven watching over them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Sherman Elgin Buckler, Jr.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Charles Sparks of Owingsville, two daughters, Debbie Anderson and her husband, David and Teresa George and her husband, Randall all of Mt. Sterling, two sons, Charles Sparks, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Mt. Sterling and Sherman Sparks and his wife, Melinda of Hillsboro, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, Sarah Terry and her husband, Steve, Lora Sparks, Andrea Sparks, Jacob George, Joshua George, Hollie Sparks, Dalton Sparks and Haley Bellamy, one great-grandson, Steven Terry IV, one sister, Nancy Halcomb and her husband, Leland of Cornettsville, Kentucky, two brothers, Carl Buckler and his wife, Doris of Frankfort, Kentucky and Tommy Buckler of Richmond, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Owingsville First Church of God with Brother Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Joshua George, Jacob George, Dalton Sparks, Steven Terry, Robin Warren, Randall George, Zachery Vanderpool and Brian Cox.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leland Holcomb, Roger Sparks, Clifton Sparks, Jamie Sparks, Carl Buckler, Jr. and Dale Sparks.
