Mary Copher

Mary B. Toy Copher, 80, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on June 6, 1941 to the late Osbond Toy and Zelma Warner.

Mary was known to her family as Nana. Her family and her faith were the two most important things to her. She enjoyed long chats on the telephone with her sister and other family and friends along with, sewing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles E. Copher, two brothers; Bobby J. Toy and Billy Earl Toy.

Survivors include her son, Yogi Copher (Martha), one grandson, Charles Douglas Copher (Amanda), four great grandchildren; Skylar, Braxton, Hailee and Blakely all of Owingsville, her sister, Marjorie Shephard (George) of Owingsville, three sister in laws; Kathy Toy of Owingsville, Twila Copher, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky and Nancy Ensor (Jerry) of Fort Worth, Texas, several nieces and nephews and three young men who she thought so much of, Jarrod Hunt (Amber) of Stanton, Kentucky, Hayden Hunt (Chelsea) of South Carolina and Jacob Hunt of Owingsville.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home at 89 Slate Ave. Owingsville, Kentucky 40360 with Pastor Ron Weaver officiating.

Burial will follow in the Owingsville, Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home will be from 12 noon - 2:00 PM Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Barney Toy, Jacob Purvis, John Rogers, Chris Copher, Jarrod Hunt, Gary Copher, Jimmy Craig and Randy Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Omer Rogers, Ricky Hart, Ray Turner and Megan White.

Contributions are suggested to the Shriner's Hospital for Children (110 Conn Ter, Lexington, Kentucky 40508) and the St. Jude Children's Hospital (Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis Tennessee 38105)
