Opal Spence

Mrs. Opal Mae Spence, 57, of Owingsville, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born on June 1, 1961 to the late Johnnie and Barbara Butcher.

Opal was a caring and loving person who was known to take in children with needs and care for them as her own. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was a member of the Northside Church of God. She also was very proud to be "Nanny" to Myah Kilgore, Presly & Laniny Gumm and Liam Utterback.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Butcher.

Survivors include her husband Bobby Joe Spence and her stepson David Spence. Survivors also include five brothers, Johnny Lynn Butcher, Mike Butcher, Tommy Butcher (Mary), Larry Butcher (Sherry) and Gary Butcher (Samantha), along with several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Northside Church of God with Bro. Kenny Crouch officiating.

Visitation at the Northside Church of God on Saturday will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
