Patsy Varner

February 10, 1944 — January 12, 2017

Mrs. Patsy M. Varner, 72, of Owingsville, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the St. Joseph Mt. Sterling Hospital.

She was born on February 10, 1944 in Winchester, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret Jewell McKenzie.

Mrs. Varner was a retired legal secretary for Hays & Hays Attorneys, former employee of Lockheed Martin and former McKenzie Trucking Company secretary.

She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Boonesboro Lioness Club.

Patsy enjoyed reading, playing the piano and cross stitch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Dale Varner, who passed away on February 9, 2006 and an infant daughter, Brenda Lee Varner.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Dee) Thompson of Owingsville and Debbie (Calvin) Bates of Sadieville, Kentucky, one son, Larry Dale (Deborah) Varner of Winchester, one step-son, James (Patsy) Varner of Winchester, six grandchildren, one step-granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were conducted at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2007 at the Clarmont Memorial Gardens in Winchester with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating.

Pallbearers were grandsons and family.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville cared for all arrangements.
