Mr. Paul Collins, 77, of West Tunnel Hill Road, Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Friday morning April 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Hyden, Kentucky on November 14, 1940 to the late Farmer and Opha Sizemore Collins.
Mr. Collins was a retired meat cutter having worked at Kroger for over forty-two years. He was a member of the Owingsville Christian Church. Mr. Collins enjoyed gardening, drinking coffee at the Owingsville Dairy Queen, spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching sports. He was an avid University of Kentucky Sports fan.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Eugene Collins and Pearl Collins. Also, one sister Zelphia Sizemore.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Stone Collins whom he married, August 1, 1964. One son David Collins and his wife Dr.Tina Fawns of Georgetown, Kentucky, one daughter Freda Duncan and her husband John, of Owingsville, Kentucky, one brother David Collins and his wife Phyllis Jean of West Palm Beach, Florida.One sister, Maultie Napier and her husband Ford of Springboro, Ohio. Also, brothers-in-law, Doug Stone and his wife Mary of Owingsville, Fred Stone and his wife Dinah of Owingsville and Phillip Stone and his wife Joan of Louisville.
Six grandchildren, Jarred Duncan, Margaret Hughes, Lauren Duncan, Izzy Hughes, Katie Collins and Caroline Duncan.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 16, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice and Dr. Sean Bailey officiating.
Burial will follow in the Shields Cemetery on West Tunnel Hill Road.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
Serving as pall bearers will be Jarred Duncan, Howard Stone, David Aschenauer, Michael Tackett, Bodge Byron, Jimmy Smith, Roger Napier and Quinn Stone. Honorary bearers will be Bobby Howard, Greg Arnett, Fred Mason, Preston "Sonny" Rawlings and members of the Owingsville Dairy Queen Breakfast Club.
