Robert "Thurman" Phillips, 83 of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Menifee County, Kentucky on November 9, 1937 to the late Gilbert Phillips and Ada Branham Phillips.
Thurman was a lifelong farmer who worked many years at Hobart Manufacturing Company in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, fishing and he never turned down an opportunity to watch the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edna Rae Phillips who passed away in 2012, two brothers; Jr. Phillips and Stanley Phillips and one sister; Ruth Shepherd.
Survivors include his daughter, Jeannie Phillips (Duayne Carpenter) of Owingsville, five brothers; Gene Phillips (Thelma), Roger Phillips (Kathy), Paul Phillips (Arredea), Larry Phillips (Joyce) all of Winchester, Kentucky and Darrel Phillips of Roann, Indiana, two sisters; Carol Marie King (JB) of Winchester and Sharon Kennon of Clay City, Kentucky, a special niece, Shawn Phillips of Winchester. Survivors also include Taylor Gibbs (Emily) and Peyton Rogers both of Owingsville along with other close neighbors and friends who will miss him dearly.
Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Clarmont Memorial Gardens in Winchester with Bro. Justin Perkins officiating.
