Roland Williams

Owingsville

Roland Williams, 84, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away at his home on Sunday, June 14, 2020 after an extended illness.

He was born in Bath County, Kentucky on July 30, 1935 to the late Roy and Anna Warren Williams.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Emelie Patricia "Pat" Jones Williams who passed away in 2002; two sons, Jamey Williams and Brian Williams.

Roland was a member of the Sugar Grove Christian Church where he had served as a deacon.  He retired from the I.B.M. Corporation where he worked as an Administrative Associate and had attended Lincoln Bible College. He was a minister and helped start several churches. He served as a foster parent to over 150 children and enjoyed talking politics, bluegrass music and going to auctions. He had built several houses and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Rosetta Coyle Williams, Two sons; Paul Williams and his wife Mary Lynne of Hindman, Kentucky and Steve Williams and his wife Diane of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Two daughters; Melanie Williams of Owingsville and Cindy Bliffen and her husband Scott of Owingsville, two step sons, Robbie Taulbee and Brian Taulbee both of Owingsville, thirteen grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Francis Nash officiating.

Burial will follow at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is 6 - 8 P.M. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will include Robbie Taulbee, Brian Taulbee, Benjamin Williams, Zachary Williams, Luke Williams, Dalton Bliffen and Josh Carr.

Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Williams, Jeramy Williams and Lawrence Williams.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Workers For Mexico Mission. Information may be obtained at www.workersformexico.org
