Roscoe Cornelius "RC" Estes

Roscoe Cornelius Estes, affectionately known as RC, passed away peacefully in his home on January 4, 2025, in Camargo, Kentucky. He was born in Estill County, Kentucky on May 11, 1938, to the late Clarence "CG" Estes and Laura Phillips Estes. 

A dedicated professional, RC spent his career as a car salesman and also operated a service and tire station with his son, where he built strong relationships with his customers. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, a testament to his strong sense of duty and discipline.

Throughout his life, RC cultivated various interests that brought him joy. He was an avid collector of model cars and special whiskey bottles, hobbies that fueled his passion for craftsmanship and history. He found great pleasure in spending hours mowing his lawn and enjoying quality time with his grandchildren and great grandson, creating memories that will forever be treasured by his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his dear wife, Alice Sears Estes; his son, Mark Estes; four brothers: Wilburn, Thomas, JB, and CG Estes Jr.; and three sisters: Bonnie Toy, Eura Lee Jones, and Ann Myers.

RC is survived by his son, Robin Estes (Angie) of Frenchburg; daughter, Michele "Shelly" Estes; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Estes, both of Mt. Sterling. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Rob Estes of Mt. Sterling, Michaela Estes (Dan) of Lexington, Amy Lee (Brandon) and Nathan Estes (Mason), both of Mt. Sterling. His joy was further enriched by his great grandson, Jacob Lee. He is also survived by four sisters: Loretta Highley and Virginia Hughes, both of Mt. Sterling; Betty Rushford (Bill) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Barbara Hurst of Somerset, Kentucky, a brother-in-law David Myers of Harrodsburg, Kentucky and his beloved grandkitty, Caycee Estes.At the request of RC, there will be no services at this time. 

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for RC Estes.
