Mr. Roy Kenneth McClain, 86, of Owingsville, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born on June 8, 1930 in Salt Lick, Kentucky to the late Lillian Green Snelling and Irvin Jackson McClain. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a half brother, Dave Green.
Mr. McClain was a farmer and a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean conflict.
He was of the Church Of God Faith and enjoyed refinishing furniture, fishing, hunting and watching baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Della Emmons McClain, five daughters, Debbie Warner, Cheryl (Bobby) Penick, Karen (Doug) Conyers, Kathy (Rex) Cassidy, Tara (Terry) Cassidy and one son Roy Douglas McClain. Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two half brothers, Millard Green Jr. of Owingsville and Lloyd Green of Muncie, Indiana and his special four legged friend, “Harley.”
Graveside services will be conducted 11:30 A.M. Monday, February 20, 2017 in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel, with Rev. Bob G. Ray officiating.
Visitation at the Michel R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday.
Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.
Serving as pallbearers: Gary Jackson, Mike Bromagen, Jeff Warner, Jacob Conyers, Brian Warner, Chris Hunt and Jimmy Hagerman.
