Roy Nesbitt Satterfield

Roy Nesbitt Satterfield, 76, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, made his peaceful transition to his heavenly home Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. 

He was born on September 8, 1948, in Lexington, Kentucky, a son of the late Joseph M. and Mildred (Craycraft) Satterfield. He was a 1966 graduate of Bath County High School and a 1976 graduate of Morehead State University.

Roy retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed his dog “Luey,” gardening, fishing, football and spending time with his many friends.

Following retirement, he served as a volunteer at the Montgomery County Historical Society and Christian Social Services.

Survivors include his daughter Lora of Georgetown, KY and his son Benny of Columbus, OH; one sister Cherry (Ronnie) Lyons of Olympia, KY, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

A graveside service with full military rites will be conducted at 2:30 PM at the Camp Nelson Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky on Friday, February 21, 2025.
