Shawn Ryver Walters, 54, of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky on December 31, 1968 to the late Virgil Walters and Sarah Curtis Walters.
Shawn was a humble and generous person who was known for his love for people. He was a natural born entertainer who was funny and quick witted. After graduating from Montgomery County High School. He went on to receive an associate's degree in nursing. His passion was helping others in their upmost time of need by working as a Paramedic for the following EMS departments, Bath, Rowan, Morgan, Menifee, Powell, Wolfe, Fleming and Nicholas Counties. He also belonged to numerous Fire Departments. Shawn enjoyed fishing, kayaking, hiking and just being outdoors. He also was a avid Dallas Cowboys fan even in their not so good years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Walters.
Left to cherish Shawn is his wife, Melinda Kay Walters, their children, Madison Sparks, Josef Pyles, Adelle Mycock and Godson, Jordan Denton, one sister, Rosalie Williams of Clay City, Kentucky and his niece, Deborah Cole (Tim) of Sharpsburg, Kentucky. Survivors also include, all his Fire/EMS and hospital brothers and sisters. Also his dear friends, Paige Cassidy and her daughter, Kiara Runyon, Jason Randall, Brandon Stevens, Bryan Donahue and several nieces, nephews and cousins that will dearly miss him.
A memorial service for Shawn will be announced at a later date so that friends and family can say their final goodbyes.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Shawn Ryver Walters.
