Truman Steele Denton, a man known for his dedicated career driving a truck for Southern States for over 45 years, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. He was born on November 2, 1948, in Bath County. The son of the late Hubert Steele Denton and Ruby Pearl Reed Denton
In addition to his successful career, Truman enjoyed various hobbies and interests including playing horseshoes and cornhole, tinkering with vehicles, conversing with friends and family, watching UK basketball and WLJC, and playing the lottery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mable "Susie" Denton, his two sisters Minnie Sue Caldwell and Amanda Coldiron and one brother, Lem Denton.
Survivors include his two sons, Randy Denton (Jessie) of Blevins Valley, Bradley S. Denton (Lisa) of Mt. Sterling, and one daughter, Brittany Sue Denton (David Parks) of Blevins Valley, eight grandchildren: Kaleb, Aaron, Karley, Jordan (Mikah), Brooklyn Denton, Tyler, Bentley, and Gracie Monroe and one great grandchild, Elera Denton. Additionally, Truman is survived by his sister Millie Dever (Tom) of Preston along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, July 12, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Brothers Russell Ingram and Les Ingram officiating.
Burial will follow at the Maze-Lynam Cemetery in Bethel.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday.
Pallbearers include Kaleb Denton, Tyler Monroe, Jimmy White, Aaron Denton, John Barry Staton, Dave Jackson, James Moore and Michael Creech.
Honorary pallbearers include Jordan Denton, Charles Anderson, JB Snedegar, Bentley Monroe, Jr. Donahue, Mitchell Thompson, Alton Copher and Daniel Jackson.
